Variety description

The ornamental sweet potato Sugarbeauty® 'Orange Lady®' impresses with its relatively compact growth with a shoot length of only 80 cm. The beautiful foliage with high ornamental value is five-lobed and dark green with a hint of red and striking violet-red colored leaf veins. From mid-summer, Sugarbeauty® 'Orange Lady®' shows its beautiful, white-purple flowers, which are a real bee/insect magnet. Like most sweet potatoes, Sugarbeauty® 'Orange Lady®' also has a development period of around 110 - 120 days . This means that ideally there are up to 120 days between planting (mid/end of May) and harvest (starting in mid-September). If the autumn weather permits and the plants are still beautiful, you can also delay the harvest a little.

The tubers from Sugarbeauty® 'Orange Lady®' have a nice uniform size and are not too big. The skin of the tubers shines in an intense pink-red and the flesh shines in a bright orange. The colour of the tubers remains intact even when cooked and the orange also intensifies. But Sugarbeauty® 'Orange Lady®' can also score points when it comes to tasting. Sugarbeauty® 'Orange Lady®' was always highly rated in the respective tastings. The tubers taste pleasantly sweet with slight notes of carrots and have a juicy, soft and melting texture.
