Variety description

The lingonberry 'Red Pearl'® is an evergreen dwarf shrub. With its groundcover-like, creeping growth, it forms dense cushions and is only around 20 - 30 cm high. This makes it ideal for underplanting bog beds, because they absolutely need acidic soil. The main flowering period is June-July. The flowers are small and white. They stand gracefully over the green carpet. The berries form on small clusters and ripen from the end of August. They are then colored intensely cherry red and actually look like small red pearls. Lingonberries are absolutely hardy and easy to care for. They love a sunny to semi-shady location and even tolerate a little drought.
