Variety description

The blackberry 'Loch Maree' comes from Scotland. The variety grows semi-erect and medium strong. The tails are around 2 - 3 m long and are thornless.

'Loch Maree' combines utility with a special ornament: its flowers are pink and semi-double. This is surprising for a blackberry and looks very decorative. 'Loch Maree' is considered a rather early, high-yielding variety. It ripens from mid-July to the end of August.

Due to the early ripening time, the variety can also deliver good results in partially shaded locations. 'Loch Maree' appears to be a little less hardy than other blackberries. Below -15°C the variety suffers frost damage and should be lightly protected.
