Variety description

'Blue Pagoda' is a tall-growing Firstberry®, i.e. a highbush representative. Unlike 'Blue Hokkaido', however, it grows to a maximum height of about 150 cm. As a highbush type, the yield is high, but as a rule it remains somewhat below that of 'Blue Hokkaido' in terms of quantity. The large fruits are somewhat barrel-shaped and have a greyish frost. For the berries to reach their full potential in terms of taste, it is very important that they are fully ripe. Therefore, leave them hanging on the bush until mid or even late June, even if they already look deep blue and visually ripe. Since 'Blue Pagoda' is not self-fertile, we recommend 'Blue Hokkaido' as a second plant.
