Variety description

In the testing and breeding facility at Lubera in Switzerland, the 'Crimson Passion' shrub cherry has turned out to be the most compact variety of shrub cherry. With a maximum height of only about 170 cm, 'Crimson Passion' remains a good deal smaller and more compact than the other shrub cherry varieties. This makes 'Crimson Passion' ideal for small gardens and even for growing in pots. If you decide to grow in a bucket, the bucket should be of a certain size and no smaller than 30 liters.
In addition to being compact, 'Crimson Passion' is also the cherry tree with the sweetest fruits in the range. However, you should wait until they are fully ripe before harvesting, only when the fruits are very dark in color do they have the highest sugar content and taste the sweetest."
