Variety description

The mid-early summer raspberry 'Willamette' is a robust and easy-care variety that bears large, round and aromatic fruits from July. These fruits are deep red in color and sweet in aroma. They are ideal for fresh consumption, but also for making jams and fruit cakes. The 'Willamette' has a good tolerance to cane diseases and root dieback. It bears its fruit on two-year-old canes, which should be cut off close to the ground in autumn, while this year's shoots remain and bear fruit next year.
