Variety description

The 'Sanibelle®' summer raspberry, like the 'Rubaca' summer raspberry, was bred at the Department of Fruit Production at the Technical University of Munich and was exclusively launched on the market by Lubera®. 'Sanibelle®' is now one of the standard varieties in the home garden sector. This is mainly due to its resistance to Phytophthora root rot. This makes it possible to plant the 'Sanibelle®' summer raspberry in somewhat unfavorable locations or locations contaminated with Phytophthora, where other varieties cannot survive.
'Sanibelle®' is a fast-growing summer raspberry with strong, upright shoots that are also covered with thorns. The ripening time of 'Sanibelle®' is comparatively late and falls in the second half of July. The fruits are large and shine in a strong dark red. Due to the even and fine structure, the fruits are particularly attractive. But 'Sanibelle®' is also convincing when it comes to tasting. The pleasantly firm fruits are very aromatic and have a fruity-fresh taste with lots of sugar and a fine acidity.
