Variety description

The Gustissimo® 'Peretta' fig is the bestseller among the Gustissimo® figs and one of the most reliable in terms of yield. This is no coincidence, as it combines ideal characteristics for cultivation north of the Alps, namely 'Peretta' is vigorous, early-maturing and high-yielding.

With most fruit trees, strong vegetative growth means little flowering or yield. This is not the case with figs. The strong vegetative growth is even the basis for a large autumn fig yield because these are produced on the one-year-old long shoots. With 'Peretta' you can still expect a nice fig harvest thanks to the good side shoot formation. Strictly speaking, it is a Twotimer® variety, but with a dominant autumn harvest.

By the way, 'Peretta' means "pear-shaped" and the fruits are among the largest among the Gustissimo® varieties.
