Variety description

Easycrisp® Mr. Green® is the spineless alternative to Crispa® Greenling® and completes the colour range of the new Easycrisp® gooseberries. Mr. Green® is an announcement for sceptics of green gooseberries: the variety is very sweet, but still has some residual acidity. For some, Mr. Green® even belongs to the elite among gooseberries as far as the taste is concerned. The large, round fruits have a thin skin and are very flavourful - ideal for fresh consumption. Harvesting starts at the end of June and the variety is extremely fertile. Mr. Green® grows very healthy, but bushier and more compact than the other Easycrisp® varieties. If the fruit set is very high, the shoots should be stabilised a little as a precaution.
