Variety description

Loganberries are blackberry-raspberry hybrids that, unlike boysenberries, look more like raspberries. 'Thornless Loganberry' is a vigorous grower with very long, arching rods. The thornless hybrid also does well in semi-shade. It is important to have a framework to which you can fix the long rods.
The berries of 'Thornless Loganberry' look like dark red raspberries. They are darker, juicy and somewhat tart. The berries should be picked when fully ripe so that they can develop their typical aroma, but they do not keep for long and should be consumed or processed quickly. 'Thornless Loganberry' is pruned like conventional blackberries, they bear fruit on two-year-old wood.
