Variety description

There are some blueberries with special foliage, but 'Flamingo' beats them all: the new shoots are bright pink in color - just like a flamingo - and then slowly change to dark green as the foliage ages. A force! So good that even without berries it would make a lovely ornamental! But the enjoyment is not neglected either: the berries are blue-black and very sweet with a bit of acidity in the background. Ripening time is from the beginning to the end of July.
'Flamingo' grows very bushy. It is not a breeding, but a chance seedling from a Dutch nursery. The blueberry 'Flamingo' is basically self-fertile. But it bears much better if there are other blueberries nearby.
