Variety description

Dirksen Thornless' is an old English and proven but relatively rarely grown blackberry variety. She is extremely productive. The growth is semi-erect, strong and the shoots are absolutely thornless. They easily grow over 2 m long and are then slightly overhanging.

Dirksen Thornless' has a very good winter hardiness. The variety is early and the medium-sized, glossy black berries ripen from mid-July to mid-September. After the harvest, the old canes are cut off at ground level and the new canes, about 4 - 6 in number, are tied on. Excessive new, rather weak rods are cut away.
