Variety description

'Thornless Boysenberry' is an (almost) thornless hybrid, probably of blackberry and loganberry. She is from California. Among the countless hybrids, it is one of those that come closest to conventional blackberries in appearance and growth. A small difference: the dark aubergine-colored berries are dull, there is no shine to be seen.

'Thornless Boysenberry' loves a sunny to partially shaded location and soil moisture. The berry bush grows quite upright, the growth is medium strong. Flowering time is in May, the flowers are white and rather small. 'Thornless Boysenberry' ripens quite concentrated in June. Due to its short shelf life, it should be consumed or processed quickly.
