Variety description

The Japanese origin of our Firstberries® and thus also of 'Blue Hokkaido' can be seen, among other things, in the healthy foliage, which still looks healthy and beautiful in early autumn.

'Blue Hokkaido' belongs to the highbush type. The variety grows tightly upright and reaches a height between 160 and 200 cm. The yield is very high, up to 5 kg per bush are possible. However, it is important that a pollinator is planted nearby. We recommend 'Blue Pagoda', also a highbush variety.

The berries of 'Blue Hokkaido' ripen at the beginning of June. The flavour improves if they are left on the bush for 1-2 weeks longer to fully ripen.
